Technical Support

Technical Support

Without specialized training, advanced technologies, like Kidde Technologies’ automatic fire suppression systems (AFSS), can be difficult to troubleshoot and repair. This is why Thermal Protection Services offers 24-hour, 7-days-a-week access to our technical support team. We want to ensure your fleet is properly protected and operating the way it is intended at all times.

Automatic Fire Suppression System

What is an Automatic Fire Suppression System?

Automatic Fire Suppression Systems perform two essential functions:
1. Automatically identify thermal energy that is abnormal
2. Automatically deploy a fire extinguishing agent (ABC or Purple K Powder) to chemically disrupt the fire and as a result prevent any further fire outbreak

While this technology is commonly used in military and aerospace applications, Kidde Technologies has developed these systems for use exclusively on buses, transit vehicles, passenger trains, and school buses. AFSS has been proven to guard against bus fires that very well could have resulted in loss of life and equipment. With an increasing number of school districts installing seatbelts on their school buses nationwide, it is more important than ever to have an additional safeguard against bus fires so that vehicle operators can focus on safely evacuating children from the vehicle.
